University Classes Now Open for Registration
May 24, 2017Southeast College and the University of Regina are making post-secondary education more accessible to students in Southeast Saskatchewan.
“First year face-to-face University of Regina classes will be offered for the 2017-18 academic year in Weyburn or Estevan. Students will also be able to access the face-to-face classes from other campus locations or from a personal home computer. We are proud to collaborate with the University of Regina in this capacity.” says Dr. Louise Legare, VP Education, Southeast College. “Offering University-level courses and programs serves the communities we live in and may save students approximately $10,000 by taking their first year of University studies at home. Southeast College is also offering a $1,000 Entrance Bursary for the first 10 full-time students registered in our University classes.”
Starting this fall, students will be able to take selected first year classes which lead to completion of the Liberal Arts Certificate or the classes can be used towards a Bachelor Degree in Arts, Education, Health Studies, Pre-Social Work or the Diploma in Liberal Arts. Students can supplement the in-person classes with a large variety of online and LIVE-streamed options that may also be applied to other programs at the University. Southeast College’s university classes are now open for registration via the University of Regina website.
“It is a privilege to work with the College,” says Dr. Harvey King, Director of the Centre for Continuing Education at the University of Regina. “We plan to continue building our relationship with Southeast College to bring University programs to students who may not otherwise have the opportunity.”
