Two Southeast College Representatives Awarded Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medals
December 19, 2022On December 14, 2022, the Honourable Russell Mirasty, Lieutenant Governor of Saskatchewan, presented to Southeast College CEO & President, Dr. Vicky Roy and Board of Governors Chair, Donna Nyeste, the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal (Saskatchewan) for their continued service and dedication to the education sector in Saskatchewan.
The Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal was created to celebrate the 70th anniversary year of the late Queen Elizabeth II’s Accession to the Throne. A total of 7,000 medals will be awarded at ceremonies across the province during the Platinum Jubilee year.
“Being recognized in Saskatchewan is a great honour for me,” states Dr. Vicky Roy, President and CEO for Southeast College. “I have been serving Canadian education for the past 20 years, and I am thrilled to receive this meaningful recognition for the work I accomplished at Southeast College with a wonderful team.”
“After volunteering at the college for three years, I am passionate about education and committed to helping Dr. Roy and her great team take the college to new heights,” commented Donna Nyeste, Chair of the Southeast College Board of Governors.” It is an honour for me to receive this medal.”
Both recipients of the medals would like to extend their sincere thanks to the Honourable Gordon Wyant, K.C., Minister of Advanced Education and MLA for Saskatoon Northwest, who nominated both recipients for this award.
