Southeast College Hold Grand Opening for Weyburn Campus
October 6, 2016Southeast College celebrated the grand opening for its new Weyburn Campus on Thursday. The opening caps almost 5 years of construction at the new facility which is attached to the Weyburn Comprehensive High School. The new 36,000 square foot building is home to 11 classrooms, 29 offices, 3 conference rooms and has a capacity for approximately 200 students at any given time. The campus also features a cutting edge student lounge area, ample parking and industry leading post-secondary training labs.
“We are so pleased with the support of the Province and the local community in Weyburn the past few years,” said Dion McGrath, President and CEO of Southeast College. “We couldn’t be happier with how this facility turned out. It truly is a student centered educational institution that we are proud to call home. ”
This year the Weyburn campus is offering a number of programs including Practical Nursing, Hairstylist, Heavy Equipment Truck and Transport Technician, Third Class Power Engineering, Continuing Care Assistant, Adult Basic Education, and English as Another Language programming. In addition to this programming, the Weyburn Campus also offers a number of courses in Industry and Safety Training, Personal Interest, Computer Training, Business Training Workshops, Heavy Equipment Operator, 1A Truck Driver Training and much more.
