Industry Education Awards Luncheon Estevan
May 28, 2018Southeast College students received $37,630 in scholarships and bursaries at Southeast College’s Industry-Education Luncheon, held on Thursday, May 17th at the College’s Estevan Campus. The awards were presented to students in various Estevan programs including 4th Class Power Engineering Technician, Continuing Care Assistant, Electrician, Heavy Equipment and Truck and Transport Technician, Industrial Mechanic, Office Administration, and Welding.
“This is just an awesome day for the College, our students and our supporters,” said Jeff Richards, VP of Strategic Development for the College. “It’s an opportunity to celebrate all the hard work that our students put into their education, and point out to people some of the great opportunities our College provides our students through our relationships with various partners. And of course we want to express our sincere thanks to the outstanding support we receive from our donors,” he added.
Southeast College scholarships and bursaries are made possible by donations from community organizations, businesses and individuals, as well as various fundraising events such as the College’s Swing for Scholarships Golf Tournaments. Eligible funds are matched by the Ministry of Advanced Education through the Saskatchewan Innovation and Opportunity Scholarship (SIOS) program. Of the $37,630 awarded in Estevan, $18,815 was contributed through the SIOS program.

A number of post-secondary programs are now accepting applications for 2018-19, including instructor-led University of Regina courses in Estevan, Weyburn, Moosomin and Indian Head.
