Furniture Refinishing
Jewels and Jems will lead this beginner-friendly class, you’ll learn the basics of furniture refinishing. From sanding and prepping surfaces to applying paint or stain, you’ll gain practical skills to transform old or worn-out furniture into beautiful pieces. Whether it’s a vintage dresser, a wooden chair, or a side table, this class will empower you to breathe new life into your favorite pieces. No prior experience required—just a passion for creativity and a desire to give furniture a fresh look!
Furniture piece should be on the smaller size, examples: small dresser, nightstand, coffee table
If you aren’t sure about the size of your furniture piece please give us a call.
Participants are responsible for transportation of their furniture pieces.
Kit Contains
- 1 X 180 grit Reusable Sanding Pad
- 1 X 220 grit Reusable Sanding Pad
- 1 Roller with frame with a microfiber roller
- 1 Microfiber Roller Refill
- 1 paint tray
- 1 X 1-inch synthetic brush
- 6 Cloths for wiping on Top coat or Wax
- 1 pint of Fusion Mineral Paint – Colour of your choice
We will have various finishing products on hand like waxes, glazes, hemp oil and top coats.
If a piece is not real wood and cannot be sanded, the participant will need Ultra Grip and have it applied to the piece a minimum of 12 hours prior to class.
Ultra Grip can be purchased at Jewels & Jems Furniture Redesign 1132 4th Street Estevan.
For a piece that can be sanded, it must be sanded, in most cases just scuff sanded and cleaned thoroughly before the class.
If your refinished furniture piece if not quiet dry when the class is over arrangements can be made for pick up during regular college hours Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
